If you have head pain, you want to find effective pain relief and pain prevention fast. That is exactly what we offer here at the Back Pain Institute of West Texas. Our treatments using chiropractic care are drug-free and do not have any downtime. Find out more about the difference between headache pain and migraines before you make your appointment for pain relief.
The most common cause of headaches is tense muscles. Also known as tension headaches, you can suffer from pain in the lower back of the head or across the forehead. With this type of headache pain, you have a dull pain that radiates across an area of your head.
A migraine is a more severe type of headache pain that is caused by dilating or constricting blood vessels. Migraines occur in one spot of the head and lead to a sharp pain. This pain is accompanied by nausea and dizziness, as well as a sensitivity to light and noise. You can have frequent migraines in the same area of the head or sudden onset migraine pain.
At our chiropractic office, we treat headaches and migraines using chiropractic care. However, the treatment plans are different because these are two distinct types of head pain. With a tension headache, massage therapy and cold laser therapy works well to release the muscle tension causing the pain. If you have a migraine, we may work with chiropractic adjustments and spinal decompression to relieve pressure on nerve endings. This depends on the source of your migraine pain. This is an issue we identify before creating your customized chiropractic care plan.
Here at the Back Pain Institute of West Texas, we provide headache and migraine pain relief in Odessa, TX. We also treat patients in the communities of Andrews, Monahans, Carne, and Midland. Contact our office at 432-652-0688 for headache or migraine treatment.
